I have twin boys aged 5months 1week... i know guide lines say don't wean until 6months but health visitor said i should as they are on 8oz of hungry baby milk, feeding every 3hrs and still wake up during the night for a bottle.

so far this is my rountine....
7am- wake up.... 8oz bottle
8am- breakfast.... 2spoons of powder and how ever much water.
11/12- bottle
2/3- about half a jar of baby food (only been doing this the past 2days and i'm not sure what they or can't eat).
6- 4oz milk
6.30- bath
and 8oz bottle to finish off the night.

please could someone give me advice on what to do and if i'm feeding at right times etc because i have been told by 6months they should have 3meals a day but i dont know what this should include.

THey don't have to be having 3 meals a day at the moment (or at 6 months) and milk is their main food until a year old.

Anyway, at the moment they shouldn't be having gluten (so wheat and wheat based stuff like pasta), dairy, meat, fish, salt, nuts or honey. At the moment you could try boiling up and preparing some fruit /veg puree and the Annabel Karmel cookbook is pretty good for weaning recipes.

The times are whatever works best for you. My DD (10mo) has breakfast at 8, lunch at 11-11.30ish, milk at 2 and supper at 5.30 but that is purely for my convenience as we go out a lot in the afternoons and it is easier to take milk than the whole weaning palaver. Don't worry, you'll be fine.
