Weaning causing stomach pains and wind

Hi all, I have started weaning my 6 month old a week ago a mixed of homemade vegetable puree and baby led weaning once a day, he has only has a small amount and doesn't really eat any of the finger food. Since then he has had terrible stomach pain and wind and won't sleep on his back at night and last night he kept waking up screaming but will go on his playmat during the day on his back. Is this normal? Not sure whether to pause weaning for a few days and try again with different food? Any advice would be appreciated!

Pretty normal fleece some babies. Pausing to give his gut time to heal and mature a little is perfectly ok.

Are you offering the food early on im the day so that he's got a chance to digest it before bedtime? Wink

Stick to low fodmap foods for now. Think apple / carrot puree but not broccoli/ cauliflower etc.

@TinyMouseTheatre Thank you, yes I think I'll give him a few days, I have been offering it to him at lunchtime but maybe breakfast time might be better?

@WonderingWanda thank you, that make sense, I have given him broccoli in the last few days so maybe thar hasn't helped matters, might try with some apple puree next time and see if that is any better

Yes I'd try at breakfast. You don't have to stick to breakfast foods if you offer food then either, LO will have no idea what a breakfast food should be Wink
