Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. My DS has been so easy to wean (started at 6 months), ate anything and everything, on 91st centile. Then about 2 weeks ago, he became a nightmare....! He did just get a tooth then, but can that really be causing him not to be eating 2 weeks later? He will eat toast, but that's just about it at the minute. I know that I should just stop stressing, but it's driving me mad....where's my little glutton gone?

Entirely normal I'm afraid - teething can last a lot longer than you think (we had three months of food terrorism). Don't worry too much. Before about ten months milk is the main source of calories anyway.

He will come round. In the meantime, don't make a big deal of it. He'll suddenly go back to nicking stuff from your plate

Hey Malsmum, my dd is also doing the same. she is also 8 1/2 months and has cut her first few teeth, surprisingly her top two have come through before the bottom two. Anyway she will only eat toast or rice crackers and purses her lips up ever so tightly if the spoon goes near her mouth.

I keep telling myself its a phase but its is so hard and stressful.

As dd was not a particularly good eater before this pahse i am extremely worried that this may continue for a long while.

I would be grateful if anyone else has any other advice.
