7 month old refusing milk but loves solids.....

Hi everyone,

my ds is coming up to 7 months and has started to refuse his bottle. He is still taking his solids well and still has one bottle at 6.30am with a struggle and last bottle at 7pm also with no interest, taking 3-5 oz each time.
I'm not sure what the reccommended amount of milk is at this stage, but it seems ds is not taking enough. He used to guzzle 8oz bottle every 3 hours plus solids!

He has no problem taking solids, he loves his breakfast - 10am, lunch 2pm, dinner 5pm and i try to incorporate his formula in whatever food i can but its not enough.

I have tried giving him a bottle in between feeds but i just plays with it.

He is teething but i'm confused as to why he prefers to eat solids but not milk... i would have thought he would go off everything... I know the books say that the milk should be given at mealtimes but realistically this has never worked for me so thats why I wait a while and give at 3pm.

I even tried to cut down the portion sizes of solids, but that didn;t work either!

Would love to hear your opinions.

My DD hated milk (other than boob) and would not take a bottle.
So I used to give cereal with milk in a bowl...that got eaten.
Still no joy with a bottle so moved onto those Tommy Tippee cups with spouts...no problem.
Still did not like drinking milk, but would eat milk with porridge/baby breakfast stuff.
She is 4 now and still won't drink milk, even the flavoured kind.
Her dad hates milk too.
She gets her dairy via cereal with milk and also cheese and ice cream, she loves cheese!
You may just have a baby who does not like milk.
