Too add to how crap I feel about weaning at five months DS has come up in a rash. I am taking him to the Dr tomorrow but I am wondering if it is a food allergy as he has had cheese and pitta bread for the first time in the last couple of days.

could be anything, lots of reasons for a rash. injections, wee viruses, skin irritations...

maybe hang off the pitta bread and cheese for a while, though, at least for another month, as i think gluten's better kept til then.

why do you feel rubbish about it? have you been told to do it?

He is six months now - he didn't have those things before six months.

I feel bad that I didn't wait until six months having seen all the posts on here. I should have researched it more.

I called NHS 24 in a tizwoz about the rash but they said it didn't sound like anything to worry about. I will see the dr tomorrow.

seriously, then, there is No Point feeling bad about what you don't know. just chalk it up to experience, it'll all seem like a very long time ago in a few weeks.

what's the rash like? the only one i'm scared of particularly is meningitis, obv.

Dr says it's just dry skin and very common. I feel like a right ejit!

Could be anything - DS has had a mystery viral rash, apparantly they're pretty common.

Try E45 - might help with the irritation.

I was also gutted because the dermatologist (long story, hospital stay) said some of the spots looked like eczema and I thought we'd avoided it (DS is 18 mo)

Ah, just saw the dry skin thing . NEVER a bad idea to go to the GP with a mystery rash - you did the right thing
