When does the TTR usually disappear? DS is 6 months old next week and shows no signs of wanting purees. He just licks the spoon and pulls a face! I can't get the spoon in his mouth because of his tongue.

Friends of mine with babies about a month younger say that their babies can't get enough of solids and I've seen them open their mouths wide to take food.

i know I shouldn't rush things but just wondered if this is normal?

yep, perfectly normal - be led by him.

The easiest way to do it is give him finger food to pick up as if he puts it in his mouth himself he's less likely to be 'surprised' and tongue it out.
Aitch's blog is a good place to start for finger food.

And ignore your friends - all babies are different and when you see them dragging pots of slop, spoons, bibs, thermoses etc around and getting covered in carrot you'll be pleased ds is still all milky...
