Tell me this is going better than I think!

Started weaning a few weeks ago, and thanks to the collected advice here, have managed to skip the whole baby rice stuff.

I think weaning is going okay, but I'm getting hassle from the Shove the Food In the Minute Baby's Head is Steady Brigade that makes me think so far not so good.

So here is what DD (6.5mo) is currently eating (we started 4 days before her half birthday):

Breakfast: 6oz bottle. Porridge, either plain or with mashed banana or stewed apple. Perhaps toast soldiers instead if no milk.
Lunch: 6oz bottle. Mashed up veg of some sort; today was butternut squash in cheese sauce and have made lots of portions of vegetable bake for her. Sometimes I let her have a chunk of my post-lunch banana too.
Mid-afternoon: 8oz bottle.
Evening: 8oz bottle.

So far she doesn't seem to be wanting any less milk - does this all sound okay so far? It's taken her a good week and a half to get the hang of it so I'm not introducing a third meal just yet. My mum thinks I'm doing it all wrong...

Not an expert but this sounds pretty good to me!

Ignore 'em and keep going

sounds perfect ! milk is the main source of nutrition for the first year. so 2 meals a day at this point is brilliant! keep offering milk before food and as she grows and appetite increases, then she will let you know when she wants more food

Sounds perfect. What does your mum think you should be doing then?
