If you have a baby of around 7 months, how many bottles a day does s/he have? (and how many ounces in each bottle?)

at 7 months ds still had 5 bottles (1 in the night) and they were around 7oz each. He gave up the night one around 8 months

WriggleJiggle · 23/04/2008 14:07

Milk still the main source of food for dd2, so lots and lots and lots of milk.

justneedsomesleep · 23/04/2008 14:38

I know its not the same but ds is almost 7 months old and he has about 4 or 5 breast feeds a day

dairymoo · 23/04/2008 22:16

Same as justneedsomesleep, DTs are almost 8 months and are on 5 daytime BFs and one (sometimes two!) BF at night...

lizziemun · 23/04/2008 22:24

DD2 is 7.5mths and has

6.30am 4/5oz
10.30am 5oz
2.30pm 6oz
6.30pm 7oz
11pm 5/6oz

And 3 meals aday. Although dd2 is probaly not a good example as she realy doesn't like milk and can take an hour to get each bottle in her. So i make sure that she has porridge for breakfast and at least one milky pudding a day.

lizziemun · 23/04/2008 22:25

Sorry pressed post to early, dd1 had a 9oz bottle every four hours 7am,11am,3pm,11pm and 3am.

ilovewashingnappies · 23/04/2008 22:32

Hmmmm.\should I be feeding m,ine more then.....hmmmmmm

Tinkjon · 24/04/2008 09:18

My DS sounds similar to lizziemum's DD (except mine also has 2 in the night, argh!) The HV said I could replace one with a meal and that I need to be working towards solids now - but as milk is their main food I wasn't sure what I thought about that. I could easily cut one of his bottles out, he only has that much because I've been thinking he should have it (also a vain attempt to get him to sleep through!) but he would be perfectly happy on one fewer bottle...

3 bottles. 7ish, 2 to 2.30, 6.45. Averages about 15-20 oz in daytime milk via bottle, plus more in food. Also has three meals - 8ish, 12ish and 5ish.

lizziemun · 24/04/2008 13:29

Tinkjon

I afraid to cut out milk because i worry about dehyration.

I can't help with the sleeping only to say that dd1 didn't sleep through the night until she was 2yrs now she sleeps from 7pm to 6.30/7am.

upsyandiggle · 24/04/2008 13:54

3 bottles, (always make 8oz) 3 meals

6.30-7am takes 6oz
2-3pm takes 4-8oz
6.45pm takes 8oz

Tinkjon · 25/04/2008 12:22

lizziemum,I'm lucky that DS is happy to drink water so that's not a worry for me.

4 bottles for my 7.5 month old.

8am, 12pm, 4pm and 8pm. She takes roughly 6oz at each feed but we always offer 7oz as she sometimes takes more but sometimes less. She's a great sleeper at night though so we haven't had to give her a night feed since she was 6 weeks old.

ppie · 25/04/2008 14:04

4 bottles for my cheeky,
6.30 7oz
11ish 5oz
3ish 5oz
7pm 7oz

but also gubbs brekkie lunch andf dinner, slept through at 4months so after that at most had 5 bottles a day, probably going to drop the midafternoon one in the next 1-2 months, drinks loads of water when offered as well.
