...of watching your lo feed themselves.

For 6m ds thought food was a nifty distraction and not much more. Now I can hardly keep up, and watching those podgy little fingers mash fistfuls of macaroni into his mouth, his concentration as he chases down every individual pea/baked bean, the way the juice dribbles down in chin when he's shoved a whole strawberry in there -- well, as I say, it's a thrill in a class of its own.

Or is it just me?

I love watching dd eat, too. There's something about the way she clearly enjoys the texture of food between her fingers as much as the taste of it .

Oh yes. The concentration on her little 11 month old face as she peels her own orange (slight pang that she doesn't need nay refuses to let me do it anymore).

She strips corn on the cob with such precision and satisfaction now, it's a joy.

If I let dd peel an orange, she eats the peel, too . She is such a starving, undernourished infant...

lol roskva, we have some of that here too - he goes through my store cupboard and bites the end off the sweet potatoes. And takes chunks out of the raw garlic! [smelly baby emoticon]

EEwww, garlic, yuck - I'm pg at the moment and have really gone off garlic. Dd takes chunks out of sweet potatoes, and ordinary spuds, too. She wrinkled her little nose when she tried it with celeriac though . Oh, and paper is her other favourite, preferably newspaper fished out of the recycling bag... I wondered why I was getting small black hand prints all round the kitchen!
