Weaned my LO early (5 months) on medical advice. Taken to solids well, started mostly puree but started adding in finger foods which he's even now feeding himself. Loves his solids.
Suddenly when it comes to purees he's started tongue thrusting, which he's never done before? I come in with the spoon (or he puts the spoon in day depending) and then he pushes his tongue out and essentially pushes the food out and off over the spoon handle. Sometimes he even sticks his tongue out as its coming towards him and he grins and giggles while doing it. Once or twice he's even accepted the food into his mouth, then pushes it out with his tongue, looks at me and laughs.
I'd assume he's not hungry but he cries when it's taken away. If I distract him with a second person with puppets or YouTube he doesn't do it and eats normally. It's food he usually eats happily so he doesn't not like it.
Any ideas?
