drinking cups

DD is just over a year old. She'll drink from an open cup (although I hold on tight as well!) or from a free flow spouted beaker (like this), but she can't get the hang of valves at all. She never really got the hang of drinking milk from bottles, either, but as I'm still BF we didn't worry too much.

Anyhow, is there a problem with carrying on giving her the spouted beakers? I'm just worrying that it's going to wreck her teeth (that's why "they" recommend moving away from teats after a year, isn't it?).

the advice i was given was not to used valved beakers as it prolongs fluids being in the mouth to cause tooth decay. HTH

yes, the cups you are using are the best ones to use as they are 'free flowing', thats the type the dentists recommend

Sounds like I can knock at least one thing off my list of things to worry about as a 1st time mum then

Thanks ladies
