Stressed and scared

My dad 9months has been eating purees mashed food, and I've gradually been starting to introduce finger food. She does great with melty sticks, banana, avocado, melty wafers etc. But I just can't bring myself to give her anything more difficult. I'm a nervous wreck. She choked on toast and since then I'm too scared. I've tried baby led weaning charts etc. She easily gags and the second she does I absolutely panic (I know it's not choking) but she also flings her head back when she eats which adds to my nerves of choking.
Any help or advice as I don't want to get her stuck on purees and I think she is capable I just need to overcome the fear.

Steamed carrots cut into batons seemed to work well for my baby!

Gagging is completely normal.

It's how she stops herself choking.

You need to allow her to do this.

And you need to allow her to progress with eating normal food.

Would a first aid course help you?
