8 month old refusing solids

My 8mo girl is entirely breastfed and refuses a bottle (we have tried absolutely everything in that regard). She went to nursery at 6 months and luckily I work nearby so have been able to go in and feed her once during the day. We started introducing solids at 6 months - she shows no interest at all in self feeding or putting anything in her mouth at all (she doesn’t really mouth toys all that much either unless she’s teething so no huge surprise). She’ll take purées off a spoon about 25% of the time but the rest of the time flat out refuses and can get really upset. Is this normal?

With this and the bottle refusal I was starting to wonder if we have some sort of aversion or sensory issue going on but I don’t want to go down the road of traumatising her with investigations if this is a normal thing and she’ll get there eventually? Everyone else I know with little ones has them eating full on florets of broccoli by now and my lo just wants boob. It’s becoming a real issue for nursery who keep suggesting different things to try all of which we are doing with no luck. Starting to really worry so any advice welcome!

Some people won't like this answer but you might need to limit the breastfeeding to ensure she is hungry for solids. If she is feeding on demand and has a milk preference she might just be filling up. I'd do a 4 feed schedule (wake, morning snack, afternoon snack, bed) at that age and provide solids at meal times around that.

If you're home for the next couple of days I'd try getting DH/DP to get her up and offer breakfast instead of doing the first BF so that she's hungry.
