Sardines in tomato sauce - too salty?

I probably should have asked first but I have just given my DTs sardines in tomato sauce for tea (they LOVED it ) but afterwards realised that it may have been a bit too salty for them. Does anyone know if you can get less salty tinned sardines or is salt necessary in the tinning process? It seems like such an easy option for tea that I really hope it's ok!

it depends what age they are and what other salty foods they have had that day. I'm sure giving it every so often isnt going to do any harm though regardless of how old they are.

They are 7.5 months, and yep, I'll just give it once in a while as (apart from the salt) must be v good for them, all that fishy goodness.
