BLW - slippery bananas

DD (6mo) is so uninterested in food - except for bananas. I did tentatively try spooning her some pureed banana, but no thanks, so BLW is definitely way forward. The problem is that bananas are so darned slippery - she can't keep hold of the pieces. Anyone found a good way of admistering banana? I tried sticking it on the end of on of ds's (blunt) forks from his toy kitchen. He was livid that his little sister was eating with his fork...

i used to wash them and quarter them length ways with the skin on. she could then hold the banana "sticks" and pull the flesh off.

oh yes. cut em in half, then peel to make two leetle nanas. snip off the loose peel if you're feeling pernickety. you won't have to do it for long, they get cunninger at gripping very quickly.

Lovely. And avocado? I ended up with it down my fingernails trying to help her grip it. Yuk.

avocado you can leave the skin on - they spit it out (well mine did)

Dip them in organic baby cereal stuff? I think I used banana porridge.

I peel, cut them in half and then wrap the peel round the middle so she holds onto that with her little mitt! Otherwise they do slip out of her hand after 10mins of her sucking and playing with it!
