DD just turned six months last friday, so we have been handing her finger foods to try. She loves pieces of carrot, melon, mango, pear and courtesy of my mum (who is fully on board the BLW train, mainly cos she did it herself without knowing the name) french bread
However most of my friends have been sceptical about the risk of my baby choking, I wasn't too worried but since I have a baby who is slow to gain weight I thought I'd try a little smush for a change as most of the food I've fed her so far has come out the other end completely whole. So I steamed some sweetpotato and mashed it with a little breast milk...she took the spoonful I offered and then proceeded to choke on it
Here I was worried about the 'loaf' of french bread my mum was feeding her, just goes to show they can choke on anything...thats the last time I go near her with a spoon
