Hi all,

I just wanted some advice my son is 10 months and we have been putting a little bit of peanut butter in his porridge here and then and he has not had any reactions.
we have started to share toast at breakfast (ie: he wants mine) I always give him a bit and yesterday and today I had peanut butter. I didn’t notice any reaction yesterday to him having a bit but today he started itching his face which went all red and sneezing. I’m just wondering does anyone have any tips on what to do? I was thinking about contacting the GP but that is just impossible atm as their consultations are always closed.

thanks so much!

I would contact the GP, sorry. You'll need a referral to a paediatric allergy clinic. Find out NHS wait times as well, it was two years for us so we ended up going private which wasn't too bad.

Allergies can develop to any thing at any time, but it is a little strange if he's been eating peanuts without issue. Have a think through the rest of the food in case there was something else he hasn't had before.

Obviously hold off on the peanuts for now!
