When should I start being concerned that DS3 isn't really interested in his food........

whether it's finger, pureed, mashed, normal on a spoon - doesn't really make a difference he's just not bothered by it - maybe one or two tiny nibbles/spoonfuls as that's it he's had enough.

He's 9 1/2 months........

I wouldn't worry as long as he's fit and healthy. They al l have their own appetites, some are greedy guzzlers and some eat like birds. Just keep offering food frequently, give plenty of milk and then you can be sure that he's had his fill.

Ds3 11 months is a skinny creature , and I offer him finger food all day. He's quite able to take it when he fancies some and to hit it out of my hand when he's not interested!!!!

agree with kitty, don't worry about it all. DD is nearly 2 and has only just really found her appetite and even now it goes up and down.

Just make sure he is getting his milk and keep offering it to him. try not to stress if he isn't interested.

oh yes he has lots of milk.......and I'm not worried about it in the sense that he's in 18-24 month clothes and has PLENTY of "resources" to sustain himself .

It's just he really does only "pick" at things.

This morning he had 2 branflakes.......that was it.

Lunchtime - 2 tiny crumbs of cheese

Dinner - a little piece of mince, and did attempt a slice of baby courgette.......but only had a tiny piece of that - spat the rest out in disgust.

He used to at least be interested in eating a yoghurt (with me spooning it to him) - but even that he's not bothered about.

Mine never became interested or had more than a couple of spoonfuls until he was about 11 months, he was also a milk monster. Hes now 2 and eats everything.

FAQ, my ds1 had a great appetite till he was 16 months old and then ate hardly anything till he was 3.6.
I tore my hair out at the time but me tearing my hair out made no difference to him whatsoever so my advice is to chill!
What did make a difference was cutting down on his milk when he was older, giving him no more than 1 pint a day, but I wouldn't even consider doing that with a baby, at this stage he needs the milk more than the food.
