Freezing bananas

DD is just cutting her first tooth today [proud] (well I've got to boast somewhere, no-one else apart from her grandma cares as much as I do ) and I was thinking of freezing some bananas for her to gnaw on. The question is skin on or skin off?

AFAIK bananas don't freeze well, and even if they did, they are terribly sweet. Why not use carrot sticks, apples, pears?
