3 meals straight away?

Should you gradually build up food content, or can i start giving three meals from now on?

Baby just short of six months, and showing enthusiastic feeding signs. Had baby rice for lunch last two days along with normal BF's.

Will it overload the gut to move swiftly to 3 meals after two days? I don't want to undue the benefits of solely BFing for 6 months.

What are your thoughts?

I wouldnt give too much too soon as it could impact on your lo's milk intake. You could add in a second small meal if you wished but I wouldnt go straight to 3 meals.

My ds is 6.5 months - he had a couple of days of lunch only but kept grabbing at any food within reach once he had worked out that food=good! So after he pretty much went onto 3 meals straight away - although have been giving him lots of finger food (missed out the baby rice completely) so not sure how much gets swallowed!

My wee man refused to be conned by having one meal a day, but each child has their own ideas. Take it easy and see how your child reacts. Enjoy

We started doing BLW just before 6mo - started with just lunch or tea at about 3/4pm, then added a midday meal after a week or two. he started on 3 meals a day a couple of weeks ago, and loves it - he eats the most at breakfast time, even after a big BF
