I thought about mixing some cooked fruit with natural yoghurt, but I can't find anything saying its ok to give them it. Anyone know?

Oh, yes, it's ideal. The best kind is one that's full fat, eg greek (but only if pasturised) or yeo Valley.

yes it is fine. As long as it is pasteurised [ all yoghurts from supermarkets are] Probiotic yoghurt even better.

Add quinoa too for extra protein & iron

MrsMar · 12/03/2008 13:37

I tried him on quinoa last week and he wasn't too keen. I just boiled it until cooked and added it to some sweet potato. I think the little seedy things were a step too far. Do you mush it up a bit bluechampagne? If i was adding it to yoghurt and fruit would I cook it the same way, ie boil in water until it's soft?

Ooh ta Mrsmar, I've a 6 month weaner too, was thinking of asking the yoghurt question myself but you beat me to it, off to shop (online) we go
Will wait to see replies RE Quinoa... it's a new food to us.. but would like to give it a try.

MrsMar · 12/03/2008 16:22

good luck with the yoghurt neney1, ds loved it with mashed banana. I'm trying it with pear this afternoon.

Re the quinoa, I've eaten it before, dh introduced it to me, he read about it in runners world. Apparently it's a really good source of protein, with complete amino acid chains or something which is very good and not normally present in non animal proteins (not that ds is a veggie, just not ready for his first steak )
