People keep commenting on how chubby DS3 is.. he's just under 20lb whick is less than the other 2 were at this age..
He has a 6oz bottle at 7am
porrige at 10 jar size portion made up with formula
13.00 5 oz bottle
16.00 jar size portion of whatever we're having mushed to pulp!
19.00 6oz botttle...
Am I giving him too much milk? I cannot remember what he should be having..
He sleeps from 7.30 till 7 and naps well during the day and with the school run we just have'nt fitted in a lunch time feed and I don't want to if he's too fat already!

Jellies,

My ds is only just 6 mths ans he is already that fat! Well he was weighed about a month ago i suppose, and he was almost 21lb! I couldnt blame it on solids cos he was only on milk then. The Hv (and eveyone else) was amazed at his size. To be fair though over the past few wks his growth has slowed down and he is due a check tomorrow and i suspect he wont have gained much

It doesnt sound like he is having a look really? I wouldnt worry, he will lose it all as he gets more mobile. To be honest though im struggling with the amount of milk. I cant remember either! My ds has nmore milk if thats any consolation!

Mine sleeps about pretty much the same as yours too.

witchandchips · 11/03/2008 12:18

My ds was 9kg at 20 weeks but has put on less than 5 kg since then (he is now 3).

carmenelectra · 11/03/2008 12:21

Yes it does tend to suddenly start to slow down quite a lot doesnt it.

jellies · 11/03/2008 12:25

Thanks ladies! I might take him down and see what he weighs in at this week!
I do like my bubbas to have a bit of squeeze in them!
I'm so rubbish this time round he's had gluten and egg.. and we have allergies!
I just cannot remember how much he should be getting and how mch to cut the milk down my now that he's eating well?

They can still have 20oz milk/day up to 12mths I think (inc. of milk in food) but i think what he's having sounds fine!

My dd is 20mth and weighs 20lbs! She was pretty chubby at 6mths though! It all pans out eventually!

carmenelectra · 11/03/2008 12:33

No i cant help with the cutting down of milk thingy. I dont know how much to make up, im wasting loads!

mY DS usually has 7oz bottles. He still does first thing, but the daytime ones are all over the shop!

If you find out let me know! Im sure we should follow their cues

Mother of another chubster here Just 10 months and 11kgs/around 25lbs. All three of mine have been big like this, the older two are now a 'regular' size.

Mine has breastmilk when waking, breakfast, 5oz at 11 ish after nap, lunch, 5oz at 3 ish after nap, supper, 5oz at bedtime. Sleeps through with no waking. Milk is still such an important part of their diet until they are 12 months.

He is super podgy, cuddly and adorable and the easiest baby ever.

cameroon,

He sounds cute.

Mine is an easy baby too. Fat n happy eh?!
