Nearly 8 months still got strong tongue thrust!

Hello,

I've been weaning my DS since 6 months. He is 7 months and 3 weeks. Currently we're at two meals a day: breakfast and lunch. DS not keen on spoon feeding, so I'm letting him feed himself. The interest in food is definitely there. He grabs and puts most in his mouth. The issue is that lots still pushed out by the tongue. He is digesting food because I can see it in the nappy. So I'm wondering should I continue as I am and the tongue thrust will eventually subside? Is there something more I should be doing?

I'd continue, especially as his nappies have changed but maybe mention it to your HV next time you go to the weigh in clinic.

I don't go to the weight in clinic, but I did just witness him eat a tomato and I would say there has been an improvement since I posted this.
