My dd2 was 9 months old when we started BLW, simply because up until that point she had never accepted a spoon in her mouth!

DS3 has a spoon for yoghurt and other "sloppy" foods from me - and for pureed (practically liquid ) food from H. But he's moving out next weekend and I was hoping to do proper BLW......but not sure if it's too late.

What's BLW?

Habbibu · 08/03/2008 20:48

FAQ - just go for it! You don't have to stop using a spoon for yoghurt, but if you want, you can load it and let him pick it up himself.

Sparkley - here

Ah I see Habbibu. We've kind of done that naturally on the basis that our eight month old has growled very loudly since the age of four months at anyone eating anything until they give in and allow him to have a bit. He's now a major brocolli fan - lets hope it lasts!

go for it, FAQ. as long as the milk is unlimited, you're laughing.

FAQ · 09/03/2008 21:56

oh DS3 won't let me limit his milk

My baby (10months) has just started to eat of a spoon. point blank refused before 9.5 months, did eat finger foods though. read an amazing article in 'the mother ' mag saying you shouldnt wean till 9 months - far to long and indepth to go into but it all makes 100% sense! think you can read the article on 'the mother' web site(seed of change)

Aitch · 10/03/2008 11:18

can you link to it, please, it sounds interesting. i've looked and can't find it.

babywearingmuma · 11/03/2008 21:07

sure! www.themothermagazine.co.uk or www.artofchange.co.uk article is called 'time to wean' its really interesting. enjoy the read
