honey and weaning

I know you can't give honey to the under 1s but can yiou use it as part of a recipe?

I have a recipe for bread that uses honey as the fuel for the yeast. Given that the bread it baked would this kill any possible bacteria?

when my dd was 6 mths old i found her sitting on the fllor with a jar of honey and a spoon. she survived.
