Nearly 1yr old. Eats well, 4 meals a day, 7 30am, 11.30am, 4pm, 7.40pm usually, but still has 5+ bottles of formula , approx 7oz 210ml each. He's skinny but solid, how do I wean him off the milk without starving him?

I've tried not giving him day bottles but he ends up waking at night wanting milk.

We are moving to cups but he's not quite ready to give up the bottles yet.

If he drinks so much milk, he must be hungry. What does he eat? Real food or pouches with a high water content?

Could you try dripping just one bottle, say the first one so he has the chance to eat more during the day to make up for the list calories?

When you say he's solid, is he following his height and weight centiles?

Also agree with the PP, if you could give us an idea of what he's eating, we might be able to suggest some tweaks Wink

Thanks for replies, sorry for delayed respkbse, travelling back from holidays.

He was on 4th percentile for weight and height at birth, now 50th for weight, 75th for height.

Eats breakfast, usually strawberries sliced up, porridge and yogurt with fruit puree, i tried making my own but he prefers the packets. Also rice cakes if still hungry. Around 7am

Toast snack about 10.30am

Lunch, spaghetti bol or cottage pie, fishcake and veg about 1pm

Tea, something similar to lunch, I try to give him food he can feed himself with plus something mashed I spoon feed. Around 5pm

Supper, whatever we have, sliced up, chicken and veg or cheese on toast, pizza etc about 7.30 pm, plus a little dessert, whatever we have, cake, éclairs, ice cream etc
