DS has just turned one and still struggles with fruit and veg skins. He loves fruit, especially grapes, apples, satsumas and nectarines - but chews and chews then spits the skin out. He can’t seem to works out what to do with the skins, I keep giving them to him daily to help him practice - will he just eventually get it?
He is the same to a degree with beans and pulses particularly baked beans and kidney beans, he just spits them out straight away. Do I need to do anything differently?

He will eventually get it, help him out by cutting up satsuma slices into bite sizes and removing skin from apples and such. One day when he's 2 or 3 he'll just be chew8ng through them like it's nothing.

Don't worry about. He will either get the hang of it or maybe just doesn't like skins.

My 15 month old used to hate eating the skin on his apples slices so I'd peel all of them before serving. Then he helped himself to a whole apple from the fruit bowl and happily scoffed away at it, skin and all. He still struggles with cucumber skin so I cut that off and give it to him separately to chew on.
