I started BLW at 6 months, as he was showing all the signs of interest in food.

I've been offering him finger foods once to twice a day. He is approaching 7 months but hasn't eaten anything.
He seems to enjoy playing with the food but is reluctant to put any in his mouth, (which seems strange has he loves to chew on toys) Once he had a bite of broccoli then gagged and spat it out.
I have tried giving him mashed banana on a spoon but he still spits out the food.
This is my first baby, Is this all completely normal ? Is there anything I could do to encourage him to try food?

He's definitely not eating anything @KCameron? I used to think that mine didn't eat much but their nappies told a different story...

Yes, that's completely normal. Have you offered him veggie paste too? Mine enjoyed only veggie paste and rice porridge at first and then started to be interested in finger foods too. If you don't want to spoon feed him, keep offering him finger foods. He will eventually enjoy eating them!
