Baby will only eat sweet food

My baby is 7.5 months and will only eat sweet foods, nothing savoury or bitter! Should I go back to single veggies and start building up taste through that and offer nothing sweet? I feel so lost with weaning!
TIA!

That's what I did. My at eight months my dd started rejecting meals to get to the yogurt so I sopped giving her yogurt.

@MinnieEgg were they established on savoury meals before then? We did single veggies first which was fine but as soon as I have something sweet he was rejecting all bitter and savoury so he’s never been on any ‘meals’ as such

Personally, I'd just blend whatever you're having for tea each night. My little one wouldn't entertain pureed veggies but wolfed down a chilli. 🙂

Take away the sweet stuff for now and offer low sugar vegetable/fruit alternatives. Sweet potato, squash, strawberry, blueberry.

I’m afraid I used to put the chocolate pudding on top of the roast beef. She grew out of it.

As for sweet stuff, id still give sweet stuff but in fruit form such as strawberries blended in a yoghurt etc 🙂

I read a post on here that you should consider mixing sweet and savoury. So say baby likes apples but not broccoli then offer an apple and broccoli combination. Baby doesn't know that they don't normally "go" together.

I honestly wouldn't overthink it:m. When DS started weaning he ate literally nothing until we finally realised he liked natural yogurt and that was the only "solid" food he ate until 9/10 months. He's 4 now and eats everything. Some of his favourite foods are so called bitter veg like broccoli/sprouts. It will likely all come good in the end if you don't stress about it and make food a battle ground 🤷‍♀️

Hoping you're still on here. Did you find a way round this and is your LO a good eater now? Currently going through the same with my 7 month old and finding it stressful
