Baby won’t take bottle or cup

I’m going back to work in 2 and a bit months and my baby won’t drink anything out of either a bottle or cup (he’s 8.5 months old and breastfed). He just squirts it out his mouth but then wants the cup again, we’ve given up with bottles because he’ll be moving onto a cup soon anyway. Any advice on what to do? He isn’t eating much solid food either because he’s just starting to have finger food (previously had to be spoon fed solids) and is just getting the hang of it. We can’t spoon feed him because he just wants to chew the spoon (teething). I honestly have no idea how to cope when I go back to work, I’ll constantly be worried that he’s hungry and thirsty.

Really don't worry, he will get it.

Are you planning on continuing BFing when you return to work? We did this and they had a big BF in the morning, on pick up and before bed. They might need an extra night feed at first but you can do some gentle night weaning.

One thing that helped mine with learning to use a cup was giving an open cup of full fat cow's milk in the bath. Cow's milk is fine occasionally, as long as it's not their main drink.

The novelty of having a cup in the bath usually gets them to drink.

Plus it won't be long before she can use straws and they usually love those.
