Weaning and going away - tips?!

Hi

We're slowly weaning, 1 step forward 2 steps back - sounds familiar?!

Going away for a couple of days next week just wondered how people manage meals? I've got loads of veg and fruit purees plus chicken casserole in the freezer so don't want to resort to shop bought stuff but also wont have time or facilities to make fresh stuff for the second day we are away.

Cheers.

how is he wth finger food?

dead easy to chop up a pear or rip up a pitta in a cafe / at a mate's house etc.

or if you are set on purees just mash up a banana or an avocado or something in a dish with a fork.

Useless! We're still at very early stages, she has lunch and tea and yes I know milk is most important but I'd like to keep routine of meals going whilst we're away.

Lunch is usually veg and meat, tea is fruit and baby rice so that's not a problem.

I would be tempted to just give the same at lunch as you do at tea. Its only 1 day after all. What about yoghurt?

if you're only going away for a couple of days i'd take frozen stuff out the freezer into a wee cool bag (with freezer blocks if you like) the minute you leave. (I have to leave myself BIG reminders or I will leave it!). Then transfew to a fridge when you get there and you're sorted.

Otherwise consider yogurt, mashed banana, mashed papaya etc...good fall backs. Or order yourself a baked potato and give some of that?

or if you really want her to have meat and veg just buy a jar

Oo good tip about baked potato. I forgot to mention her age, she's 6.5 months but lazy as heck so finger foods are of no interest to her at the moment!! I've I give her stuff like that I usually find it several days later down the side of her chair!

Have tried yogurt and she's not keen but will try again. I was just concerned about meat and how long it can be left defrosted but I suppose she can be vegetarian for one day!
