17 month old won’t eat

Hi there,

my nearly 17 month old has an extremely limited diet . He is ridiculously fussy and hardly eats. He will only eat: weetabix, yoghurt, toast, cereal, spinach, rice and olives. Also biscuits and crisps of course. Nothing else, no fruit at all apart from raisins. He’s still breastfeeding and not sure if this is part of the problem, as in he’s too attached to that. I’m just scared of cutting it with him having such a limited diet. He’s also a terrible sleeper so terrified of quitting bf and not getting any sleep at all. Any advice very welcomed. Thank you

You don't really need to rely on BFing for sleep anymore @starlight1011

There are a few good resources for helping them to sleep like 12 alternatives for the all night nurser or the No Cry Sleep Solution for Toddlers and Preschoolers.

I'd have a go at some gentle night weaning and see if that helps to give him more of an appetite for solids.

How does he respond in the day if you offer a snack and a drink instead of BFing? Things like diluted fruit juice or a small hot chocolate might distract him?
