I know lots of people only do BLW but for those that started on purées or a mix, how long did you do purées for?

Think our experience was skewed as DC1 had undiagnosed Tongue Tie so could only manage smooth purées until
he was one. DC2 wouldn't touch the purées and wanted proper food at 6 months.

In the bad old days when babies were weaned earlier, purées were started at 4 months or before (I've heard of 6 weeks). Finger foods were usually introduced around 5/6 months and by 7/8 months they were on mashed family food with some finger foods, like sandwiches.

DC1 liked being fed by me and I continued to purée a lot of things until he was about 1, then I realised he was eating ordinary food at nursery so I stopped. DC2 was weaned on purées but liked feeding herself so by 8/9 months she was on mashed and then family meals very young.
