Baby gagging on bottle

Hi all,
My little one is 6 months old and started weaning about 3 weeks ago. He seems to enjoy is food but ever since we started weaning, he gags on his bottle to the point where he sometimes makes himself sick during the fee. I haven't changed the bottle or milk so everything is exactly the same. It happens as soon as the bottle goes in the mouth, not even all the way sometimes.

Anyone else experience this?

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Like he have a sore throat? There are a lot of viruses going around at the moment Flowers

Not sure if he has a sore throat but he has been congested for a little while now. Been to the doctor's a few times and they mentioned it's a viral infection so should get better on its own..

If his nose is blocked he may be getting breathless because he can't get a good deep breath through his nose. Try some saline spray to clear his nose before a bottle.

Steak might also help. You could try running the shower and talking him in the bathroom?

Thanks both, I have been doing the saline spray before every feed and have also tried sitting him in the bathroom to get some steam but hasn't really helped. I have a doctor's appointment later today and hoping to get referred to a pediatrician. Fingers crossed!
