When should you pump whilst feeding baby?

I am just about to start weaning and have seen that people add their breast milk to their purées, which I would also like to do.

I have exclusively breastfed for 6 months and never used the pump, so wondering when I should be pumping as I am still breastfeeding?

Just worried as I don't want to cause oversupply! Should I pump after feeding? Also which side do I pump (the side I've just fed from or the other??)

If anyone has experience of this and how it worked with weaning- any advice is welcome!

Could you manage pumping from the other side whilst you feed? Even just a hakaa style one would probably get enough milk for you.

I could try! Would you say I would only need to pump a bit or a full amount?

I pumped after feeding. Unless you have one of those hospital grade pumps it won't stimulate as much as baby anyway.
If oversupply becomes an issue just freeze. If it becomes way too much just take a bit off the top when you are engorged to store.

When you pump with no milk coming. This will prompt more milk in the future. When mine was low I was told to pump for 2 minutes after milk stopped. Just avoid this to avoid over supply.
