Lo is a good eater, he's been on purees for a month or so, and eats almost everything he's given enthusiastically. He now eats for example a whole jar of babyfood at a sitting.
I've also been giving him fingerfoods in the blw way for about a fortnight. Some of them he absolutely scoffs, for example a finger of cathedral city on wholemeal toast today was demolished in under 5 mins with only a small soggy remnant to be found seeking refuge under his chin(s)
But a lot of the fingerfoods he will happily lick/taste but doesn't tuck into. I was thinking about giving up the spoonfeeding and swapping to blw which I think he'd go for as he loves any kind of small step towards independence, but not sure how to do it as he eats a LOT of pureed food every day at the moment, and I don't think he currently has the skills to eat that amount via blw.
I know they should be getting the main part of their nutrition from milk when you start blw, he usually haves about 26oz of milk over three bottles. If I were to just do blw, would I have to add, say, another bottle until he's able to eat enough blw style food to replace the purees? or should I just reduce the puree meals slowly and up the fingerfoods considerably until he's fully doing blw?
By the way, I know I could just combine the two, but theoretically, how would swapping to blw best be done? All advice welcome!
