How do I firmly explain to HV why I will be 'waiting' until 6 months?

I NEVER went to the baby clinic with DD2, never saw a HV after their first visit when she was born. Trust your instincts if they start talking about early weaning say no thanks we are following WHO guidelines now I thought that's what everyone was advising now. Or just nod your head smile sweetly and ignore everything they say.

your reason's are as follows.

hi, im his mum and i don't want want to wean early

TotalChaos · 31/01/2008 21:57

Just don't bother going to the clinic if you're happy he's healthy.

I think it is very very very simple - look how well he is doing on the gold top you are providing!!!
There is no need to wean him at the moment

If you think you really are going to be pressure, pelafina, then have these in your bag as print outs:

This is the current UK guidance on the situation.

This page has links to documents which have been circulated to HPs, including HVs, which explain why babies are fine on milk alone, and why concerns about nutrition and development are unnecessary, in most cases.
