Can DD3 have weetabix for breakfast tommorrow?

started weaning DD3 and going OK but not fantastic. Struggling for breakfast ideas and remember dd2 loved her weetabix but can't remember when I can start on ordinary shop bought cereal, or any produce for that matter, not designed as such for babies. DD3 is 28 weeks - can she have weetabix for breakfast tomorrow?

DS2 is 9 months now and I'm pretty sure I gave him weetabix around that age, if I didnt it was only cos I didnt have any!!

Personally I cant see a problem with it

Karen999 · 25/01/2008 21:05

At that age I gave toast or fruit. I think that weetabix must be ok...have never tried it!

Beauregard · 25/01/2008 21:07

Yes should be ok for 6 months plus.

Wilkie · 25/01/2008 21:07

Yup fine - anything from 26 weeks bar honey and runny eggs goes.

Weetabix mixed with milk and a fruit pot is good too

colditz · 25/01/2008 21:08

Weetabix is fine, check for salt because they change the recipe occasionally

OverMyDeadBody · 25/01/2008 21:08

Yes give her weetabix.

Have you tried porridge for breakfast? You can add all sorts to it for variety, banana, stewed apple, vanilla seeds, or blend some dried fruit like dates, raisins, apricots into it.

Shredded wheat is also nice with warmed milk, DS loved this, only gave it occasionally to limit his wheat intake though, same with weetabix.

Thanks all for quick replies. (DH amazed at response in 7mins . Will try tomorrow. Would love to try some toast but no interest in finger foods at all. But am convinced she is ready for solids as screaming with hunger every two hours but think her tummy is demanding it but she doesn't know what to do with it. Just thought that weetabix would be a tastier option over the dreaded baby rice and may get a better response.

I started weaning at 5 months and gave fruit puree for breakfast mixed with baby rice....dd2 loved it...but tbh I switched to BLW at 7 months.

farfaraway · 25/01/2008 21:26

K999 that is what I have been trying and it is not going down very well. But sure she is hungry but not up to BLW at the moment. But maybe a few weeks down the line nearer 7 months like your DD2 thing may pick up.
