Hi all,

Meant to post this yesterday but got caught up on the CF thread 🤣 oops!

Starting to wean my 5 and a half month old and was looking for some tips/recipes.

She seems to make a face at absolutely everything I give her apart from the fruit pouches.

We always make everything from scratch, but just not sure if I'm best to start off with pouches or just go ahead with making my own?

Just to note, I think she's ready. She's constantly looking at me when I'm eating and my DP, now waking up during the night for a feed when she used to sleep right through!

TIA! ❤️

Have you tried putting some food in front of her and seeing how she gets on? My DD wasn't really keen on purées but loved feeding herself.

I did baby rice as first, yoghurt, and packet purées. I did try doing my own but was wasting a lot of food, time and money and I found he took the Ella's kitchen packets or supermarket brands anyway.. and they're not too dear either.
Then I'd start mixing like mashed banana into the rice or yoghurt. Then moved onto baby porridge, rusks in warm milk etc.

After if given him breakfast just for a couple weeks I started to introduce dinner time. Again - Ella's kitchen packets like sweet potato first before moving with other veggies.

Lunch was the last meal I introduced. Started off with purées as above, didn't introduce him to toast or steamed veggies til about 7 months I think it was. I was terrified of BLW

Good luck weaning! Lovely fun and messy stage 😂😂
