What is the actual benefit of BLW though? I mean, I have found myself doing it because it's exactly what I did with baby #1, because I was quite lazy, and suddenly it has got a name and other people are saying it is Ok whereas the first time I was sort of disapproved of!

But has it any known benefits? Just curious!

no proven benefits at all, FA. logically, the 'food is not a battleground' thing is writ large so you'd hope that children might be less fussy. (obviously this is dependant on the parent providing good quality food in the first place). but food is not a battleground is general advice anyway.
there's also the thing of no overfeeding possible if the child controls intake form day one. and ime it's been interesting that dd would lick raw tom but then put it down and a few months later had a skin sensitivity to cooked toms for a while. so i'm glad i wasn't using raw in a puree recipe as i might have encouraged a bigger reaction.

Thankyou Aitch - straight from the horse's mouth, as it were!

It makes more sense now
