Sick 1 year old only wanting breastfed now

Hi all, looking for some advice.
My LG was ill last weekend and would only have breast milk. She was down to feeding 3 times a day and ate really well.
However, since last weekend, she’s gone right off her food and only wants breast milk.
Has anyone else experienced this? I’m worried as she’s losing weight so I’ll call the doctor’s on Monday but wondered what I could try in the meantime.
TIA

Something cooling and yummy - maybe a strawberry to munch, ice lollies made from frozen juice, a cold sausage to hold. Anything that may make them feel a bit better and start them looking for more food.

Good luck, hope they are feeling better soon

How much has she lost in a week? Could that be down to the illness last weekend rather than the breastmilk diet?

Absolutely normal if they're poorly. Just let her feed as much as she wants.

Does she still appear ill mnow or is she back to her old self but just not eating.

It might be worth giving her a dose of Calpol half an hour before breakfast tomorrow, a teething gel just before if she needs it, and offering her favourite breakfast.

If you do go to the GP, make sure they record her height and weight, if she is losing weight they'll need this as a baseline. Also, get them to check her ears and throat as both of those can affect eating.

All my 3 did this occasionally when they were ill, it's totally normal. Unless it's massive weight loss I'd just view it as part of being ill. Your DD will likely put it all back quickly once she's fully recovered

Absolutely don't worry - be glad that she's getting the nutrition and fluids from breast milk. She'll eat properly once she's fully well again.

Thanks everyone.
I’m maybe being paranoid about her losing weight because I’m aware she’s not eating; she’s usually such a good eater.
It’s so hard when they’re so little because they can’t tell you what’s wrong. I wonder if she’s got a sore throat.
Anyway, I’ll call the GP on Monday and see what he says.
Thanks again to you all for replying ☺️
