How do you go about changing from/ reducing
breastfeeding to bottles?

We used the MAM range. And dh did the feeding when I wasn't around! Went back to work pt at 10 weeks and ds had a bottle at lunchtime.

With mine I just started giving some formula and some breast milk and slowly switched

@Cameronnorrieisabitofalright Did you you need to express ar first? I’ll need to get more bottles, we’ve got Tommie tippee closer to nature ones but I don’t think they’re great when LO is wanting to be more upright.

LO You she great at taking a bottle from me, takes them fine for other people…but I’ve always express and I’m with LO 99% of the time anyway.

Used formula in the bottles. Never expressed.. Never leaked or got engorged..

The current advice, which should help you to reduce the risk of mastitis, is to drop one bottle every 2 weeks.

If you want to do it more quickly than that, I'd call one of the BFing Helplines and the BFC should help you to come up with a plan. Have you got the helpline numbers?

Noonecaresifyounamechange · 14/07/2022 20:21

Thank you @PritiPatelsMaker. Ill pick a feed and start there…just need to decide what one!

I’ve no numbers. I had tried my HV but she’s impossible to get a hold of and my local BF support group isn’t running atm

@Cameronnorrieisabitofalright oooft, I can’t see it being that easy for me unfortunately. 🤦‍♀️

The Helpline Numbers are here @Noonecaresifyounamechange and you might be able to find a different BFing Support Group through this link.

I'm sorry you've not been supported properly. The services for PG Women and New Mums in this country is shockingly underfunded.

Thank you @PritiPatelsMaker !
