Is there any fruit not considered 'safe' for a 10 month old?

So far, I've only given him what I'd class as 'basic' fruit i.e. pear, apple, banana and whatever comes mixed in readymade fruit pots/fromage frais (e.g. blackcurrant, strawbs, rasps, apricots)

He's not a big fan of fruit as finger food, just as mush, but raspberries are on offer at the mo and they look lovely, and easier for him to control as they're a nice size and already a bit mushy.

My husband also got some kiwi fruit the other day but not sure about those as I'm sure I read somewhere they weren't suitable, but can't remember why.

So basically I just would like to know if there's anything thats definately off the list. I thought citrus fruits would be a no-no but not sure about others. thanks in advance for any replies

DS (10.5mo) loves clementines, I cut the segments into three or four bits though so no choking hazards. Kiwi fruit brings him up in a rash though. I think you just have to try one by one and as long as your LO doesn't have an adverse reaction then it's fine.

Kiwi is a common one for allergies I belive. DS (3) isn't allowed to take them to nursery because of that fact.

don't think anything is 'banned', my ds has loved pineapple and mango from about that age. And he loves wee orange type things too, I don't bother cutting them into smaller bits though. And sssh don't tell anyone but (whispers) I don't cut grapes up either.

If you have a family history of allergies it's suggested to hold off on strawberries and kiwi fruit until over a year, I think.

I second the strawberries. Not sure about Kiwi.

Strawberry and kiwi most likely to give reactions but since my two were not particularly likely to be allergic to things (no family history) I just gave them a little bit at first and watched for a reaction.

Watch out for too much citrus fruit causing nappy rash!

ok, thats great. thanks!! will stay off the kiwi and strawberries for a while, and do as suggested and try things one at a time in case there is any reaction.
