8.5 month old hates textures!

Can anyone offer any advice? My 8.5 month will only eat purées. When I move him on to more textured foods eg Ella’s Kitchen pouches for 7 months plus or when I make him something textured he refuses to eat.
He’s a fit and healthy little baby and good weight but I can’t help feel we are behind with his weaning.

My 9 month old is the same. I have been driving myself crazy as my others were baby led so were eating normal food by this stage. I have found that actually he is a little better with food rather than textured purées.

So I feed him really runny purées alongside things like strawberries, banana etc. eventually he will shift his attention to solids. At least I hope so!

Dd2 was 10 months before she would eat food, she's the one that ate well after that, her sister ate well from 4 months then went off food at 2 and still is fussy at 24

He’s little still.

food before one is just for fun- no point stressing about it.

mine is 9m, is fantastic at finger foods but I cannot get a spoon in him for love nor money, so all his calories are pretty much still milk. He loves to join in with mealtimes and have a taste of things though, so I’m just letting it be.

Ds was the same, to the point that any lump larger than a split atom would make him vomit. Just keep his milk up and keep offering other solids/soft finger foods, he'll get there.
