BLW at 22 weeks?

What if anything do I need to be thinking about?

I know the recommended weaning age is 26 weeks and was fully intending on waiting until then. However after a toast incident last week, I did start to consider that DS might be ready for some food now, so I tried him on some banana bits today and he was brilliant.

He has been able to sit independently for a few weeks now and I was amazed after feeding DD purees that a baby can actually chew at this age!

So other than not giving bread/gluten what if anything do I need to be thinking about

i would stick to fresh fruit and stuff tbh. banana is good, maybe some steamed carrot sticks or melon?

i've always been of the opinion that if a baby can pick up a piece of food, maneuver it to the back of their throat and swallow without gagging, then they're ready for weaning. course, this meant that ds wasn't ready for weaning till 9 months, but hey!

That is just what I thought, I just couldn't believe how he attacked this piece of banana sucking and chewing, I was amazed
