Just looking for some advice please-
my baby’s 5 and a half months old & we’ve just started weaning (a little early but he’s showing all the signs of readiness). I just wondered if I can introduce allergens like egg, cows milk, wheat etc now or if I have to wait till he’s 6 months?
So far I’ve been giving him different types of vegetables, both blended and whole and he’s doing really well with it, but I’m worried to give him anything else too early.
Thankyou xx

There’s no magical switch that flips when they turn 6mo, don’t worry you’re only 14 days or whatever early

Yes I started offering allergens at 5months and about 3 weeks. One at a time though so to easily identify any reaction and I wanted to do one per week but there's nothing official behind that, just my preference. We started with egg first.

Give him plenty of resistive foods such as mango pits, ribs, chicken drumsticks (skin off and pinbone removed) corn on the cob, pineapple core etc for chewing practice
