Hi, I’m thinking of starting to wean my baby in the next month when he will be 6.5 months. Any book recommendations? I want something that’s quite step by step so will advise on different foods/ textures at different ages. Thanks

I'm just about starting to wean number two and the books I've bought hard copy having used them on Kindle first time round are DK Feeding your baby every day (very step by step, includes purees for mixed weaning), the (original) baby led weaning cookbook by Gill Rapley, and I'm giving the River Cottage book a go but I haven't used it before, just the secondhand bookshop had an offer on if you bought 3...

I also use Annabel Karmel's Weaning book, I'm not sure which exact title but they're all pretty much the same. She's pretty step by step and includes purees too.

The DK one literally has day by day menus on it though so is very handholdy if you're doing mixed or traditional weaning.

I had other books on Kindle too but haven't bothered buying them (the more recent celeb style weaning books!), I've bought copies of the ones with recipes that my little fusspot actually ate and that made sense. Some of those are very repetitive in ingredients too, there's only so much you can do with cheese and broccoli...

Haha to the cheese and broccoli 😅
Thanks for the recommendations. I will have a look at them. I like the sound of the DK one.
My friend recommended Ella’s kitchen but I wasn’t so sure on that one.

I liked the Ella’s kitchen one too.
It just got us going for the first few months and then DD was just eating what we eat, without salt, by 12 months.

I recommend Charlotte sterling reeds book 'How to wean you baby'. She also has a really good Instagram for inspiration ect.

Honestly I did get a lot of use out of Wean in 15 (Joe Wicks). He co-wrote it with someone who knew their stuff Smile

Oh I'll have a look at the CSR one as that's come out since weaning DD1- I have actually spoken to her and thought she was very nice and 'real' and she is actually qualified too.

I don't get the fuss about Ella's kitchen in general but I guess most of the competitors are building on their (Ella's) foundations really
