DS recovering from norovirus - when can I wean him?

DS is five and a half months and I'd been planning to wean him sometime later this month. Last week he (we) had the ghastly vomiting and diarrhoea bug since when he's not really recovered his appetite, ie isn't back to taking 6oz feeds every 4 hours (he's taken maximum of 4 and a half oz today - best it's been for days).

So my question is: should I hang on a bit longer until I know his tummy is back to normal before trying him on solids? When will I know the time is right? Was planning to do BLW but don't know whether to start off a bit more gently instead now.

I would wait until he's back to normal so give him a few more days to make sure he's totally over the bug then you could start experimenting with solids.
