My ds2 is nearly 8 months and disliked veg mush from the moment he tried it at about 6 months, fruit was no problem. He is a big boy, over 23lbs and bf with the odd ff thrown in. On a personal note we are in limbo land between new house/job/country/life in Kenya and are stuck at the inlaws until the end of next week so don't have access to my own kitchen, books etc.
We have stumbled into blw as the HV suggested giving him pieces of veg and frankly said just give him pieces of anything (within reason ) So he will quite happily chew away on pieces of chicken, veg, cheese, fruit, crackers, plain toast and we seem to have got over that gagging bit now.
My question is what more can I give him? Obviously he still finds it a bit fiddly to pick up small pieces of things but will give it a good go.
Also he doesn't seem to eat a great deal of it, which I am assuming is not a problem as he still gets plenty of breastmilk.
Finally any tips for portable foods for the plane!
I have briefly been onto Aitch's blog and it looks fabulous but sadly I just don't have the time to peruse it at leisure whilst looking after 3 dc in my IL house full of tempting knick knacks to fiddle with.
Any help much appreciated.
