Hi all,
I was hoping to get some advice from those of you who have been through it.
We have been weaning our seven month old since just before she was six months. She’s never really been that interested in the solids and only manages a few spoonfuls before refusing any more. She currently has a few spoonfuls of porridge around 8am and then about half a small jar of baby food or a small amount of mashed veg around 3.30/4pm. She normally has four formula milk feeds throughout the day.
My question is - did you reduce the amount of milk you gave your babies at each feed to make them hungrier for solids or did you carry on with the same amount of milk and just offer solids as an extra? I’m concerned that at seven months she should be wanting more solids so have been giving her smaller bottles but she has started waking once in the night wanting to be fed after consistently sleeping for 11/12 hours solidly. If I give her the same amount of milk from before weaning then I’m worried she will be less and less interested in solids.
Any advice?
Thanks in advance!
